QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Norwegian Registered Nurse preferable specialized in, or education/practice experience in emergency medicine/ anesthesia/ intensive care
  • 3-5 years documented in handling medical emergency and pre-hospital experience
  • Must be qualified at all times according to Odfjell Drillings Competence Matrix and authorities’ requirements/regulatory demands for the position
  • Speak and write fluent Norwegian and English language
  • Computer skills to be able to handle tasks relevant to the position
  • Competence and experience within follow-up on working environment

 

 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • The nurse must be fully committed to Odfjell Drilling’s Vision and core values
  • Must be fully committed to work in accordance with Odfjell Drilling policies and procedures
  • Nurse shall assist management (employer), employees, working environment committee and safety representatives in creating safe and healthy working conditions
  • Nurse is responsible to safeguard all legislative requirements for emergency medical and health preparedness
  • The nurse practices his/her medical activities under supervision of the Responsible Doctor (FAL), and reports to the FAL with regards to medical activities, to OIM on a daily basis, and as per the Company prevailing organizational
  • The nurse is obliged to inform OIM about all health related matters that might impact on the safety of individuals and others on board
  • The nurse shall actively participate and contribute in the QHSE-activities on-board the rig

 

 

Medical tasks and responsibilities:

 

  • To diagnose and treat acute diseases/illnesses and injuries in consultation/supervision from doctor onshore (Duty Doctor / Responsible Doctor /Occupational physician), and according to prevailing rules and legislation
  • To check, maintain and order medication and medical equipment, including verification of medication brought on-board by crewmembers
  • Carry out weekly hygiene inspections of the unit together with OIM and Camp Boss
  • Check potable water, hygiene and food/drink
  • Assist in the safety induction of new personnel
  • Train personnel in first aid, rescue at height, stretcher team and any other health related courses as required by the authorities and OIM
  • Record, report and follow up on Work Related Illnesses (“ARS”) in accordance with established company procedures
  • Testing of smoke divers in consultation with Company Doctor
  • Assist the Occupational Health Service (OHS) with performing Health Surveillance programs and preventive healthcare
  • In case of conflict of interest between the medical and the administrative tasks, the medical tasks shall never be compromised (§8 Activities Regulations ”to ensure that anyone staying on the facility has access to a professionally competent Health Services”
  • Input and contribution to preventive measures in accordance with established procedures
  • Provide input and contribute to preventative measures in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist occupational health service with local medical surveys and preventive healthcare
  • Implement the training of first aid teams and any other onboard stand-by teams
  • Nurse is obliged to inform OIM about all health related matters that might impact on the safety of individuals and others onboard
  • Nurse shall update OIM in daily meetings relating to onboard health status

 

 

Workingenvironment and safety requirements and tasks:

 

  • Basic knowledge of offshore regulations and standards regarding working environment (WE)
  • Basic knowledge of working environment factors such as chemicals, noise, vibrations, illumination, ergonomics, psychosocial working environment and systematic working environment analysis
  • Assist OIM with administrative tasks. Writing Minutes of Meeting for HSE- and management meetings and actively participate in drills
  • In cooperation with the Safety Leader manager update RUH reports (ICU and Synergi system)

 

 

Take the role as the on board coordinator for the Working Environment (WE) aspect on the rig. This includes the following:

 

  • Advice and assist managers and employees to keep the chemical management on the rig updated and in accordance to legislation and with Odfjell internal procedures. (Advice and assist for the rig’s chemical control system and follow up in accordance with the procedures and supervise chemical handling.)
  • Knowledge regarding personal protective equipment. Be able to advice personnel on use of correct personal protective equipment
  • Keeping rig crew informed about working environment issues related to their health
  • Assist in the Risk assessments of WE conducted by third parties
  • Basic knowledge of performance of noise and illumination measurement and regulations and standards regarding noise and illumination. Be able to perform spot checks of noise and illumination values as directed by the onshore QHSE provider or department.
  • Identify and advice HSE department onshore when there is need for more comprehensive risk assessments, mappings and advisory from the HSE onshore department or the occupational health service provider
  • On board point of contact regarding psychosocial matters

 

 

EXTRADUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DP RIGS/VESSELS


Various tasks in regards to handling of POB (Personnel On Board) shall be undertaken by the holder of this
